Disabling ink levels using the "14" (C5010AN and C5011AN) cartridges
Try this procedure prior to refilling - If you can't reset your printer's ink level indicator you must refill the cartridges while they are in the printer! If you can't get the syringe to the cartridge while it's in the printer you can gently bend the needle to better angle it into the cartridge. Make sure to bend it into a gentle curve and don't block the tube by bending it too much in one spot.
- The ink level gauge automatically resets when a different ink cartridge is installed in the printer.
- Overriding the ink level gauge does not affect ink cartridge expiration dates. The printer cannot use an expired ink cartridge

This selects the Status and Maintenance menu, then selects the Restore Factory Defaults option. |
